- Ch to skim read the text to find out what activities
it relates to.
- Explain the purpose of our activity and therefore
what to note as we share our reading of text.
- Discuss possible symbols. The need to be simple and
recognisable for repetition.
- Skim for place names. Do we recognise any already?
Castries, Soufriere, Pitons are possibilities.
- Share reading as class. Discuss as necessary.
- Highlight/underline all place names. Locate on blank
map. Underline those that we can copy from a map. Wriggly line under
those that we have had to deduce by geographical description.
- Highlight/underline activities (Snorkeling and diving)
and attractions (Fish, coral, wrecks) and devise suitable symbols. Place
accurately on map.
