Investigation~Maps

Freddy Ferret wants a good bank of maps for different purposes.

They will be useful for a lot of the work he has to organise and perhaps a group could sort them out and save them in to one folder so everyone knows where they are. He's no good at that! Can you help him?

Watty W Weasel wandered the Web and found some really useful sites.

Stella Stoat has organised it all and added notes.

Clicking on the icons will take you straight to the web sites. If there is more than one, click on the hyperlink in orange writing.

Remember: If you use any of these maps in a presentation you should always copy the internet address and display it to acknowledge where it came from.

Investigate these sites and decide if you want to copy them and/or save them to a special folder where everyone knows how to find them.

For maps of the Caribbean Islands. This first one is very detailed and quite large. You will need to copy it on to a page in landscape form.

Here is a smaller map

These are of St Lucia.
o If you want a blank outline to make your own map
o A fairly simple map with main towns and villages, including Anse La Raye, with main road (Useful for the Rainforest work).
This one is a large map shown in relief with the main roads marked and a small inset map of the Caribbean islands. You might need to click on the small icon to expand to full size.

A very detailed map showing the main resorts, hotels and diving sites as well as the roads and names of towns and villages including Anse La Raye. If you write to St Lucia Tourist Board
1 Collingham Gardens, London, SW5 0HW they will send you a few copies. This is an excellent map for planning a trip to the Rainforest.

This map is a diver's map and clicking on each number will tell you a little information about each dive. Use the drop down menu under the map to find out the names. This site also provides a good range of photos and a video to help publicise your diving ventures.

This map in 3D gives an idea of how mountainous and hilly it is. It provides small pictures and information of some areas.

This is an interactive map and clicking on the umbrella and mountain symbols will produce moving panoramic photographs.

There are four aerial photographs of St Lucia on this site. Scroll down to see them then click to open. Use the expand button to see greater detail of the houses nestling in to the valleys.

Choose the best map for display. Use the following sites for finding out interesting information to add to your display. It must be things which would encourage visitors to go there. Always write in your own words.
