School Activities

Football is a favourite activity
The boys are very proud of a new kit

In 2006, Boraba Lower Basic School was to host an
Athletics meeting for seven other schools in the area.

Here you can see them training hard for the event.

All the schools have such meetings. The High Schools had met at the sports grounds of Armitage High School at Janjanbureh.
There was fierce competition among the schools with many people running their hardest despite the high temperatures in late February.
Several pupils fainted in the heat and were carried off to be fanned under an awning. They had been determined to win in front of the many spectators.

 

By 2006 there was a new Scout Group. They practised very hard, every lunchtime. The Scout Master had trained one of the boys to be a Scout Leader and he lead them very well indeed.
They were thrilled when they were able to buy two drums, which helped to keep them marching in time more easily.
