School Gardens

Working and learning in the garden is a very important part of the school curriculum. Children are often able to go back to their compounds and pass on what they have learnt to the extended family.

Most of the work is done by hand as there are very few tools

The sisal plants can be made into fences

Mr Camera, the gardening master is showing the sisal plant which makes a thick hedge too.

Every drop of water has to be collected from the wells in the school. Unusually, it rained in February while the teachers were there.
